[Verse 1] Big paws on the porch step One blue eye, one brown Muddy nose in my lap Like he owns this town Saint Berhusky grin All wool and winter fire He shakes the whole back yard Then curls up by the wire [Pre-Chorus] He barks at the mailbox Like it told a lie Then leans on my shoulder And softens up my sky [Chorus] Saint Berhusky, hey Snow and wild and sweet Saint Berhusky, stay Thunder in your feet Big dog, soft heart Runs straight through my day Saint Berhusky, hey You never go away (hey, hey) [Verse 2] Sled-dog ears in the wind Saint Bernard belly low He steals my shoe, then drops it At the door like a pro Melted snow on the floorboard Fur on every chair He’s a whole front-porch blessing With a busted puppy stare [Pre-Chorus] He charges at the river Then waits for me to laugh One paw on my boot, like “Come on, take the path” [Chorus] Saint Berhusky, hey Snow and wild and sweet Saint Berhusky, stay Thunder in your feet Big dog, soft heart Runs straight through my day Saint Berhusky, hey You never go away (hey, hey) [Bridge] When the cold gets heavy He’s the fire at my side When the yard feels empty He’s the one who brings it alive He may be half wild winter And half old-country grace But he finds me every morning With that rough, bright face [Final Chorus] Saint Berhusky, hey Snow and wild and sweet Saint Berhusky, stay Thunder in your feet Big dog, soft heart Runs straight through my day Saint Berhusky, hey You never go away (hey, hey) Saint Berhusky, hey My winter-made parade Saint Berhusky, hey Best mistake I ever made (hey, hey)
