[Verse 1] You left your coat beside the door The rain came in across the floor I held the words I meant to throw Then watched the hard old anger go [Pre-Chorus] I don't erase what we went through I make some room to start anew [Chorus] Let it go, let it go Not because it didn't hurt Let it go, let it go Give the good a chance to work I can keep my heart wide open I can set the burden down Forgiveness isn't saying nothing It's choosing what I carry now [Verse 2] Your note was folded twice in four I read it standing by the drawer No grand repair, no perfect line Just one small step, then one of mine [Bridge] A door can close, a door can bend A softer start can still defend [Final Chorus] Let it go, let it go Not because it didn't hurt Let it go, let it go Give the good a chance to work I can keep my heart wide open I can set the burden down Forgiveness isn't saying nothing It's choosing what I carry now [Outro] I choose what I carry now
