[Verse 1] Found your sock behind the couch Been missing for a week Smells like you and summer rain Kinda hits my cheek Laundry basket overflowed Like all the calls we skipped Folding up my t-shirts slow Reading what we left unsaid [Chorus] We fell in love on laundry day Spinning ‘round Colors melting away You said “Stay ‘til the cycle ends” Now every rinse reminds me again Of tangled sleeves and tangled hearts Your hoodie warm in my arms We fell in love on laundry day Guess some stains just wanna stay [Verse 2] Quarter machine ate all my change You laughed and kicked the door Coffee cooling on the edge Of that humming Tiled floor You drew faces in the steam On that tiny window pane I still keep your broken clothespin In a jar with your last name [Chorus] We fell in love on laundry day Spinning ‘round Colors melting away You said “Stay ‘til the cycle ends” Now every rinse reminds me again Of tangled sleeves and tangled hearts Your hoodie warm in my arms We fell in love on laundry day Guess some stains just wanna stay [Bridge] Maybe it’s silly Maybe it’s small But I’d trade every Friday night To sort our mess and watch it fall Into whites and into brights Into yours and into mine Still hoping one lost sock of yours Shows up in my next load sometime (oh) [Chorus] We fell in love on laundry day Spinning ‘round Colors melting away You said “Stay ‘til the cycle ends” Now every rinse reminds me again Of tangled sleeves and tangled hearts Your hoodie warm in my arms We fell in love on laundry day Guess some stains just wanna stay
