🎶 “Lay It Down” Verse 1 Remember, remember the ones who stood still Dropped every weapon, chose love over will They could’ve fought back, could’ve answered the call But they laid it all down… they surrendered it all Buried their swords in the dirt at their feet Turned from the violence, chose mercy and peace Faced every blade with their faith in His name Would rather lose life than be broken again ⸻ Pre-Chorus They weren’t afraid of the cost it would take They trusted in God with each breath that they gave ⸻ Chorus Lay it down, lay it down Every fear, every crown Love is louder than the war inside Stand your ground, don’t turn around Even when the world strikes down Grace will rise where hearts collide Lay it down… lay it down ⸻ Verse 2 You talk about faith, but do you remember The ones who stood firm, didn’t fight their offenders? No shield, no escape, no running away Just love in their eyes as they knelt there to pray A thousand fell down, but heaven drew near And something awakened in hearts filled with fear The ones with the swords, they started to break The weight of their choices too heavy to take ⸻ Pre-Chorus The blood on their hands turned tears into change And mercy came flooding through sorrow and pain ⸻ Chorus Lay it down, lay it down Every fear, every crown Love is louder than the war inside Stand your ground, don’t turn around Even when the world strikes down Grace will rise where hearts collide Lay it down… lay it down ⸻ Bridge (emotional lift) Hearts wide open on the ground Heaven heard without a sound In their dying… life was found More were saved than lost that day Love rewrote the ending page God was moving through their pain ⸻ Break (soft, reflective) Remember… remember… His arms are open still ⸻ Final Chorus (big + layered) Lay it down, lay it down You don’t have to fight right now There’s a better way to live this life Turn around, hear the sound Of a love that won’t back down Calling every soul to come alive Lay it down… lay it down ⸻ Outro Come to Him… You don’t have to carry it anymore
