Music rises slightly. Add soft percussion. The first program I break is the lie that says: “I am what happened to me.” No. What happened to me may explain some things. It may reveal where I was struck. It may show where I learned to hide. But it does not get to rule me. The second program I break is the lie that says: “If I feel it strongly, it must be true.” No. The heart can panic. The body can remember danger. The mind can build a prison out of old evidence. But truth does not need panic to be powerful. Truth stands. Truth breathes. Truth corrects. Truth frees. The third program I break is the lie that says: “I cannot change.” No. I have changed before. I have survived things I thought would bury me. I've learned. I've repented. I've corrected. I have risen. And I can rise again.
