A Different Lens Oh, how I’ve been so misunderstood, In the quest to fit a mold, lessons untrue. My family’s guidance, the compass I’ve sought, Yet I question the rest, in this tangled thought. As I gaze around, a world unfolds, A different narrative, its stories untold. I’d rather observe, like a film on the screen, Than live in their shadows, where I’ve seldom been. For imagination is where my truth takes flight, In dreams that awaken, illuminating the night. When tears gently flow or I stumble and fall, My soul gathers wisdom, answering the call. It meditates softly, restoring my might, In moments of darkness, it guides me to light. So I cherish the journey, the lessons I glean, For in my own reality, I’m forever unseen. -coco Moanikeala
