[Verse 1] He is despised and rejected A man of sorrows I looked away Like I did not know his face We hid our eyes Counted him as nothing He carried the weight We cried in shame [Pre-Chorus] Surely he hath borne our griefs Carried our sorrows We saw his wounds And esteemed him not But the night was wrong The judgment was ours And the quiet stayed Like a bruise [Chorus] Bruised for our iniquities Bruised for our iniquities With his stripes, we are healed Bruised for our iniquities Bruised for our iniquities With his life, we are saved [Verse 2] He was wounded for our transgressions Bruised for our flaws The peace we chased Came through his pain The hand that struck Could not erase him The grief we brought He turned to grace [Pre-Chorus] Surely he hath borne our griefs Carried our sorrows We saw his wounds And called him not But the night was wrong The judgment was ours And the quiet stayed Like a bruise [Chorus] Bruised for our iniquities Bruised for our iniquities With his stripes, we are healed Bruised for our iniquities Bruised for our iniquities With his love, we are saved [Bridge] All we like sheep have gone astray We have turned every one to our own way I hid my face He stayed there I made the wound He took it Lost in the storm He walked through it [Chorus] Bruised for our iniquities Bruised for our iniquities With his stripes, we are healed Bruised for our iniquities Bruised for our iniquities With his grace, we found peace
