[Verse 1] Faded paint on the hood Rust on the wheel wells Bench seat cracked in the sun Smells like gas and hay bales That old dog’s still in the cab Hairpin turn, he leans right Starts on the second try Every time [Pre-Chorus] You can laugh if you want Call it worn out junk But it hauled my whole life In the back and in the trunk [Chorus] That old Dodge Ram Still runs on pride That old Dodge Ram Takes me for a ride With the radio low And the windows down That old Dodge Ram Won’t back down [Verse 2] Tailgate’s got a dent From that fence by the creek Mud on the tires from June And a deer in the backseat Daddy taught me to steer On this straight dirt road Said son, keep it steady And hold your load [Pre-Chorus] Now the miles stack up Like a prayer in the dash Every scratch tells a story I ain’t ever gonna trash [Chorus] That old Dodge Ram Still runs on pride That old Dodge Ram Takes me for a ride With the radio low And the windows down That old Dodge Ram Won’t back down [Bridge] Maybe one day it quits Maybe one day it fades But it got me this far Through the hard and the rain I’ll keep a wrench in the bed And a hand on the wheel Long as that engine’s talking I know what’s real [Chorus] That old Dodge Ram Still runs on pride That old Dodge Ram Takes me for a ride With the radio low And the windows down That old Dodge Ram Won’t back down
