That desert sun’s Been riding high Burning white Across the sky I’ve watched the Heat rise off the road And counted down the Weeks till it lets go Long days with The windows closed Waiting on a little wind to blow Here comes fall And I’m ready for it Cool air rolling Through my door Autumn leaves and A Saturday game I’ve missed the sound Of the crowd roaring Thank God for the Change in the weather And the months I’ve Been waiting to see That summer took Its time leaving But fall feels good to me I made it through Those blazing days When even the shade Felt miles away Now the mornings Make me step outside And take one long breath Before the drive I see the first Leaves turning gold And catch myself Smiling on the road Here comes fall And I’m ready for it Cool air rolling Through my door Autumn leaves and A Saturday game I’ve missed the sound Of the crowd roaring Thank God for the Change in the weather And the months I’ve Been waiting to see That summer took Its time leaving But fall feels good to me Put the game on And pull up a chair Let the evening Breeze come through I’ve had enough of The desert heat Tonight I’m staying out Till the stars come through Here comes fall And I’m ready for it Cool air rolling Through my door Autumn leaves And college football Give me all of it And a little more Thank God for the Change in the weather For a season I’m glad to see That summer took Its time leaving But fall feels good to me
