[Verse 1] In the halls of Persia, fear wore gold A feast turned hard, a royal cold Queen Vashti’s chair stood empty that night And a hidden girl stepped into the light Mordecai at the gate stood still A whispered choice against a larger will Esther, sweet girl, with a quiet name Walked toward a throne and a blazing flame [Pre-Chorus] Who knows why I’m here? Who knows what You’ll do? If this is my hour Then make me stand for You [Chorus] For such a time as this For such a time as this You placed the crown on her head For such a time as this For such a time as this When the world said fear, she said yes [Verse 2] Haman watched with a poison grin Built his pride on the ruin of men He cast his lot, he sharpened the lie But heaven was moving behind the sky Mordecai tore his clothes in the street Dust on his face and ash at his feet “Don’t hide now,” came the faithful cry “Maybe you were born for this fight” [Pre-Chorus] Who knows why I’m here? Who knows what You’ll do? If I stay silent now Then who will speak for You? [Chorus] For such a time as this For such a time as this You placed the crown on her head For such a time as this For such a time as this When the world said fear, she said yes [Bridge] Fast from dawn till the shadows fall Call His name through the palace walls If I perish, I perish But I will not bow The king held out the golden scepter Grace came near, and the fear got smaller One brave prayer shook the whole dark ground And the hidden hand was seen around [Break] [Instrumental] [Final Chorus] For such a time as this For such a time as this You placed the crown on her head For such a time as this For such a time as this He turned the threat into praise For such a time as this For such a time as this The sleepless King still saves For such a time as this For such a time as this We will stand and trust Your name [Outro] When the night says run We will say yes When the fear says hide We will say yes For such a time as this For such a time as this
