[Verse] Oh the sun was high the sails were tight I sat beneath the mast's tall height Crunchin' peanuts Golden light Till a shadow passed my view A chipmunk bold with eyes so sly He leapt and snatched my salty prize With a chirp he bid goodbye And vanished in the blue [Chorus] Heave ho You furry thief My snack's gone My heart's in grief Heave ho Where did ye go Return my nuts or face the blow [Verse 2] I chased him 'cross the rolling deck Slipped on rope and near my neck He danced upon the captain's speck A peanut in each paw The crew laughed loud and slapped their thighs As I stumbled 'neath the skies "Catch the beast!" my mournful cries Echoed through their ha-ha-ha [Chorus] Heave ho You furry thief My snack's gone My heart's in grief Heave ho Where did ye go Return my nuts or face the blow
