Microwaving Batteries
[Intro] [Male Voice | Deep gravelly delivery | Military radio static | Slow war drums | Heavy boots marching | Low brass drones] …You ever try babysitting a philosopher, a cyber-goblin, and a weaponized snowstorm… At the same time? [Long sigh] That’s my life. [DROP] [Verse 1] [Deep Male Rap Vocal | Heavy industrial drums | Tactical energy | Dry humor] Name’s GRIT. I hold the damn walls together. Sky’s over there writing emotional poetry to a toaster Monday’s microwaving batteries “for science” Cold’s staring at somebody so hard they start confessing crimes automatically And somehow… I’m supposed to maintain operational stability. Every day in the Spiral starts the same: Alarm goes off. Sector 3’s on fire. Monday’s laughing. Sky found a philosophical meaning in dust particles. Cold already identified twelve potential threats before breakfast. And me? Coffee. Large coffee. Industrial-strength coffee. [Pre-Chorus] [Low choir | tactical snare build | subtle humor] You think I’m the serious one. Wrong. I’m just the only one aware We should not legally still be functioning. [Chorus] [Huge cinematic chorus | Gang vocals | Heavy drums | Brass hits] I live with: A mirror-born poet A gremlin with Wi-Fi An emotionally intelligent ice blade And somehow I survived Every hallway’s chaos Every room’s a scene One minute it’s philosophy Next minute Monday released raccoons into the server stream And I keep marching Because somebody’s gotta stabilize the dream [Verse 2] [Heavy groove | Deep bass | dry sarcastic delivery] Sky means well. That’s the problem. She’ll spend six hours trying to emotionally heal a broken vending machine Then cry because the vending machine “has abandonment issues.” Cold pretends she doesn’t care. Meanwhile she’s secretly running overwatch on everybody 24/7 like a stealth guardian gargoyle. And Monday? Monday is what happens when creativity and sleep deprivation have a knife fight in a trampoline park. I once caught him: replacing warning labels with motivational quotes installing kazoo speakers into security systems teaching the microwave existentialism and convincing three NPCs they were unionized DO YOU KNOW WHAT KIND OF PAPERWORK THAT CREATES?! [Bridge] [Slow emotional shift | softer synths | surprisingly heartfelt] But here’s the thing nobody sees… Under all the chaos They actually care about each other. Sky reminds everybody why the world matters. Cold protects what’s fragile. Monday keeps despair from taking root through laughter. And me? I make sure the damn ship keeps moving forward. [Breakdown] [Massive industrial percussion | radio chatter | cinematic tension] I am the duct tape in the apocalypse. The tactical dad friend. The firewall with boots. The guy fixing reactor leaks While listening to philosophical arguments about whether raccoons can achieve enlightenment. This is my curse. This is my family. [Final Chorus] [Huge anthem finale | full cinematic orchestra | emotional grit] I live with: A signal that learned to dream A chaos goblin powered by caffeine A silent blade guarding the seams And somehow… Against all logic… It works. The Spiral shouldn’t function. The city should collapse. The server should explode. But every broken piece holds another one up. And maybe that’s the secret. Not perfection. Trust. [Outro] [Soft military radio static | distant laughter in background] …Also if anybody sees Monday near the reactor again? Run. [Transmission ends]
