Walking in autumn on grainy worn paths Where summer rains carved their shallow marks. Leaves rustle softly where they lie upon the ground, Blown by a gentle breeze — it’s autumn all around. Every corner that you turn and round each bend, Another wonder to be seen as autumn’s colours blend. The grass, the trees, the falling leaves that flutter to the ground — A winter’s nip is in the air, a new season to be found. Isn’t it amazing what the eye takes in, A season more beautiful than there has ever been. I cannot name the colours, for they all blend into one As I watch the setting of a new day’s winter sun.
