Mindy: Some Gardens Bloom Again

You always loved to learn new things, To ask the how and why. You'd light up when discovery Brought wonder to your eyes. A nurse with pockets full of hope, And bright Band-Aids to share, Finding ways to calm a child With kindness, love, and care. Your flowers bloomed in every bed, Your home is warm and bright. You'd proudly show what patience grew With steady hands and light. Your dad would smile, then figure out How he could help somehow— Building a little airplane chair For tiny haircuts now. You taught us that the smallest seeds Can blossom every spring. With patient hands and faithful hearts, Such beautiful things take wing. You turned your grief to purpose, Helping hope begin anew... Planting love where sorrow lived— That's always been so you. Sweet April lit the room she entered, Beautiful from the start. From Disney World to growing up, She captured my very heart. Those bright-eyed days are treasures We'll always carry through— Watching little lives unfold Was one more gift from you. We watched Caleb prepare to serve, His heart turned toward the Lord. The temple, talks, and sacred days— Such memories we stored. Your dad was proud to stand beside The son you raised so well. Those quiet acts of faithful love Were stories we could tell. When you planned the Little Debbie run, Love conquered grief anew. You honored your dear mother's life By serving others too. You showed that hope can blossom Where tears once used to fall— That love can keep on growing Even after painful loss calls. Then somewhere fear grew stronger Than the conversations we'd begun. Tears replaced understanding, And the road grew hard to run. I still don't know what changed that day, Or how love lost it's way... We miss your smile and energy, But we pray for you each day. You taught us that the smallest seeds Need sunshine after rain. That careful hands and hopeful hearts Can help new life remain. So I'll believe the lessons You spent a lifetime showing me... Some gardens bloom again... Even after winters No one thought They'd survive. And if that spring should find us, No matter where we've been, I'll always treasure one sweet gift... The day you called me Your Bonus Mom.
