[Verse 1] Quiet comes in heavy Piles up on the fence Covers every loose end Of this old Uneven town Breath fogs up the window Kettle starts to sing Phone light on the table But I don’t feel like letting anyone in [Chorus] It’s white on everything Every road I used to take is erased It’s white on everything All the sharp edges getting replaced By this heavy winter snow Falling fast Falling slow Till it’s white White on everything [Verse 2] Cars sleep under blankets Street signs lose their names Boots by the door Salt in the doormat stains I trace your name In the glass with my thumb Watch it blur at the edges As the heat slowly comes [Chorus] It’s white on everything Every road I used to take is erased It’s white on everything All the sharp edges getting replaced By this heavy winter snow Falling fast Falling slow Till it’s white White on everything [Bridge] Maybe this is mercy Hiding what I can’t face Maybe when it melts I won’t go back the same (oh) Till then I’ll sit here breathing In the hush outside my door Let it keep on Keep on Covering a little more [Chorus] It’s white on everything Every road I used to take is erased It’s white on everything All the sharp edges getting replaced By this heavy winter snow Falling fast Falling slow Till it’s white White on everything
