(ACT 7 part 1) Sebastian’s Soliloquy ("Five Days of Dust")

The clock on the mantel is ticking too loud. Five days of living wrapped up in a shroud. You stood in this doorway, your eyes full of spark, And promised a cure to crawl out of the dark. But promises wither, and mortals get wise. Did you finally see through my vampire disguise? Hope is a poison I shouldn't have swallowed. Now look at the empty, dead room that has followed. Five days of silence, five days of dust. That’s what I get for a moment of trust. Did you run screaming back into the light? Left me alone with the weight of the night. You’re gone, David, gone... and the illusion is shattered. I was a fool to believe that I mattered. I stare at the floorboards where you used to stand. I can still feel the terrifying warmth of your hand. Did the horror sink in? Did the fantasy break? Did you realize a monster is too much to take? You’re back in your world where the heartbeat is normal, And I’m left in mine, cold, cinematic, and formal. I should have known better, I’ve lived through the centuries. Mortals are fragile, they turn into memories. But for one bleeding second, you made me feel human... Now the silence is screaming, a brutal illumination. Five days of silence, five days of dust. That’s what I get for a moment of trust. Did you run screaming back into the light? Left me alone with the weight of the night. The air in the room suddenly turns to ice. The shadows are moving... this is the price. Hello, Sebastian!
