[Verse 1] I knew my place beside your throne I carried Heaven's light alone I stood where you had placed me high Beneath the glory of your sky But now a brighter crown is raised Another name more highly praised And though my flame burns strong and true It seems to matter less to you [Verse 2] You name the Son as Heaven's heir And place him high beyond compare The light you once bestowed on me Now shines on him for all to see I gave my light, I gave my name I never turned away your flame I bow my head as I have done Yet now I bow beneath your Son [Chorus] Favoured one, I know the name I wore it long before he came Favoured one, now watch him rise As I descend before your eyes No crime committed, nothing done No sacred battle lost or won You chose the blood above the light who earned the right Of favoured one [Verse 3] So this is how my worth is weighed? So easily my faith betrayed Through every age I gave my best And held my place among the blessed But now another stands above Another closer to your love So with a word the order changed And all I knew was rearranged [Chorus] Favoured one, I know the name I wore it long before he came Favoured one, now watch him rise As I descend before your eyes No crime committed, nothing done No sacred battle lost or won You chose the blood above the light who earned the right Of favoured one [Bridge] Favoured one now take your place Favoured one receive His grace Stand where I stood beside the throne And claim the honour I had known No need to prove what you have done No need to earn what you have won The Father's word and it is done Behold... Heaven's favoured one [Chorus] Favoured one, I know the name I wore it long before he came Favoured one, now watch him rise As I descend before your eyes No crime committed, nothing done No sacred battle lost or won You chose the blood above the light who earned the right Of favoured one [Chorus] Favoured one, I know the name I wore it long before he came Favoured one, now watch him rise As I descend before your eyes No crime committed, nothing done No sacred battle lost or won You chose the blood above the light who earned the right Of favoured one You chose the blood above the light who earned the right Of favoured one Favoured one Favoured one
