WILL-O’-THE-WISP [INTRO — whispered singing, cocky] My cousin got invited. I didn't get a thing. So I stole her invitation— Let the trouble begin. Biggest party in a hundred years? Please. I'm in. [VERSE 1] Champagne puddle. Strawberry. Glow. Pretty little flame— Watch me go. Left. Right. Gone. Too late. You followed me. Your mistake. [CHORUS] Follow me. Come on. Don't think. Wrong door. One drink. One kiss. One dare. One bad choice and I'm already there. I lead you astray. That's what I do. You knew I was trouble. You followed me too. [VERSE 2] There's a wine-wisp sulking in a velvet-red stain, telling tragic little secrets to the dancers in the rain. A whiskey-wisp's laughing with a dangerous grin, saying, “Come along, darling, I'll show you where it's been.” The beer-wisps are fighting over somebody's shoe. Cocktail Wisps bicker and boast, “I'm mostly rum!” — “I'm vodka! Let's toast!” I raise my little lantern— “To the family.” Then I lead them all somewhere they shouldn't be. [BREAKDOWN — whispered call & response] “Is this the way?” No. “Are you sure?” I know. “Where are we going?” Somewhere you shouldn't— Gone. [DROP] I led the goblin. I led the fairy. Led one poor fool somewhere downright scary. He said, “You knew?” I said, “Of course.” He said, “There was no floor.” I said, “Your loss.” [VERSE 3] Then— Hang on. Where's my puddle? Where's my glow? Where's that lovely little road I know? Left was right. Up was down. Some bastard moved the whole damn town. The hallway twisted. The doorway lied. The floor disappeared from side to side. The music laughed. The shadows grinned. Something whispered, “Come on in.” [BUILD — clipped, increasingly frantic] I don't get lost. I lead. I don't follow. I mislead. I know the dark. I know the way. I— ...shit. Where the fuck's the way? [DROP] Now I'm lost. Fuck. [FINAL CHORUS] Follow me. Wait. The hallway moved. The doorway lied. I came to lead you astray— Now something's leading me tonight. Doors move. Floors shift. Paths disappear. I know these tricks. But the rave knows better. And suddenly— I'm following something. ... Oh, fuck you. [OUTRO — laughing, fading] Champagne's gone. Party's hot. Portal's open. Fuck it. Why not? Follow the flame. Follow the glow. Where you'll end up? Hell if I know. Might lose you. Might lose me. That's the family industry. [WISP LAUGH]
