Out the door the prophet went, Message hard, in haste was sent, No one moved, all were in shock, After that ole’ prophet talked! The king gave word, find that man, Search the kingdom and surrounding lands, leave no stone you find unturned, Bring him back for his just desert! Hide O’ hide O’ Prophet man, For Ahab’s anger will search the land, But God is with you O’ Prophet man, He will hide you from the angry man! Three long years rain did not fall, plus six months, no rain at all, But the time was now to end, Idolatry must find its end ! A challenge to the evil king, To Mt Carmel Baal's prophets bring, A test of gods will Elijah bring, On Mt Carmel before the King’ Hide no more O Prophet man, Time is now to take a stand, Who is Lord, Elohim or Baal, Let the losers in death fall! The crowd was quiet, as the rules reached all, Prepare a sacrifice, wood and all, But let not a spark get near at all, But from the gods let the fire fall! Morn to noon Baal’s prophets begged, cut themselves, arms and legs, Then in jest Elijah said, Baal’s asleep and in his bed! No fire fell as hopes were dashed, Not even blood from flesh they slashed, Then it was Elijah’s turn, To call on God , sacrifice to burn! High upon the mountain top, Repaired God’s altar, but did not stop, a trench of water to prove the burn, was from True God to all concerned! This is it O’ Prophet man, To show both King and surrounding lands, Only One can be called God, For every need and answer sought! Just a quiet little prayer, Then peace a moment, as he repaired, The Fire rained, before all eyes, Devoured water, stones, and the Sacrifice! The Lord is God the people said, Soon Baal’s prophet all were dead, By my Word as the prophet said, Rain was restored, just as he said! Hear O hear O sinner man, God is Lord, Please understand, He will supply your every need, But sinner man you must believe!
