Out of the sky, We fell like angels, Whose wings were severed, In a storm of bad luck and bad weather. Expecting Mickey Mouse ears, And competition trophies, Replaced with fears, And forever nightmares. Those dreams splintered, By the screaming of failing engines, As my world exploded. We're still ghosts haunting there, Like the ones that we left swinging, From the trees. I guess we'll always be, A bit of our souls left behind, To wander there, In the woods where we died. I woke up to flames engulfing me, Like I'd been mounted on a pyre, The agony, of fire crucifying me, I thought then, I'd expire. A shadow saved me, Smothered the flames with his body, I've never been closer this close to death, With anybody. My skin was marked and branded, But it wasn't just me, We all bear scars for bearing witness, And there's bitterness, That it happened to him, and her, And to you, And me. We're still ghosts haunting there, Like the ones that we left swinging, From the trees. I guess we'll always be, A bit of our souls left behind, To wander there, In the woods where we died. We had to make choices, None of them an option we'd willingly, And willfully choose. Either way, there's something we'd lose. Do we die for the cause? Or preserve ourselves so all isn't lost? What was that? An arrow shot? A bloody machete, In the back. And the front. We're the hunted, being hunted down, Will we ever live through this, And cope with the aftermath, We're forever in survival mode now. The final girls, And men, We made it this far, We made it to the end, But we'll return there, When we sleep We're still ghosts haunting there, Like the ones that we left swinging, From the trees. I guess we'll always be, A bit of our souls left behind, To wander there, In the woods where we died. In the woods where we died. The woods where we died.
