In the weeks that follow, Aurelya, Nareh, Vee'lox and Kortax continue examining the fragments Darek remembered from his strange experience on the bridge. Ancient Ranesh archives reveal scattered references to names, symbols and concepts that should have been impossible for him to know. None of the discoveries provide clear answers, yet all of them point toward the same elusive subject. The Myx. Among the oldest known civilizations in the galaxy, the Myx are wanderers without a permanent homeworld. Their vast living fleets travel between the stars aboard immense garden ships, carrying their history, culture and knowledge within themselves. Entire generations are born, live and die while crossing the darkness between worlds. To most species they are little more than legends, stories exchanged by explorers and traders who claim to have glimpsed their distant vessels. Very few truly understand them. The Myx do not seek territory. They do not build empires. They do not conquer. Instead they observe, learn and preserve. Across thousands of years they have become known by many names, but one title appears again and again in records throughout the galaxy: The Keepers of Wisdom. What the crew of the Sector Nine slowly begins to realize is that Daydream may never have been a dream at all. Unbeknownst to Darek, a distant Myx fleet had become aware of him long before he ever learned their name. Across unimaginable distances they sensed something unusual within him. Not power. Not ambition. Not authority. Potential. A curiosity that refused to die. A willingness to question what others accepted. A desire to understand rather than control. Through means no one aboard the Sector Nine can fully explain, fragments of thought crossed the darkness between them. Not a conversation. Not words spoken directly into his mind. More like impressions, memories and symbols drifting across a vast ocean. The Myx did not reveal themselves. They did not introduce themselves. They simply shared pieces of who they were. Ancient journeys. Lost worlds. The burden of carrying knowledge across ages. The responsibility of remembering what others had forgotten. When Darek later writes the song The Myx, he believes he is describing a mysterious people he has never met. What he does not yet understand is that the song itself is part of the message. The first step in a journey that will one day lead him toward a role neither he nor the crew of the Sector Nine can yet imagine. Far beyond the known routes of Orion, the Myx continue their endless voyage between the stars. Watching. Waiting. And quietly nurturing a future they believe is still possible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [Instrumental long Intro] [orchestral synth fanfare] [deep cinematic drums and atmospheric guitars rise slowly] [Spoken Words] "There are names..." "the star maps no longer carry." "Worlds erased by fire..." "long before Orion learned their story." [Spoken Words] "And somewhere beyond the trade routes..." "the garden ships still drift." "Quiet..." "watching the ages pass." [Instrumental Interlude] [Verse 1] Far beyond the fractured border Ancient vessels cross the haze Roots entwined through halls of amber Gathering the scattered days [Pre-Chorus] No banners on the dark horizon No empire carved in stone Only wandering spores of memory Searching skies they’ve never owned [Chorus] And the Myx keep moving Through the sleeping tidal black Carrying forgotten seasons Never turning back Silent forests drift between us Through the cold electric tide Every world that tried to break them Left another seed alive [Instrumental Solo] [slow progressive guitar solo with orchestral synth layers] [Verse 2] Strangers born from distant regions Far beyond the Orion streams Listening through ruined signals Tracing half-remembered dreams [Pre-Chorus] The Keepers curse their silence The Noc’tya fear their way For no chain survives forever When the roots refuse to stay [Chorus] And the Myx keep moving Through the sleeping tidal black Carrying forgotten seasons Never turning back Silent forests drift between us Through the cold electric tide Every world that tried to break them Left another seed alive [Instrumental Solo] [Bridge] Somewhere past the frozen clusters Where the oldest comets fade Ancient branches still are growing Through the ruins others made [Final Chorus] [massive orchestral climax] And the Myx still wander Past the charts of dying suns Scattering their living archives Where the dark and silence run No throne could ever hold them No fleet could make them kneel For the loss that shaped their journey Taught their roots to heal And the garden ships keep drifting Through the deep unending blue While forgotten worlds grow distant They become something new [Spoken Words] "They do not ask for dominion..." "They do not kneel before old laws." [Spoken Words] "They carry their homeland..." "not in soil..." "but within each other." [End]
