My Refuge (Psalms 46 & 62)
(Verse 1) Sunrise paints the cornfield gold, another day begins to unfold, Got my boots on, coffee strong, where do I truly belong? Life throws dust and sometimes rain, lotta worries, lotta pain, But I know a place where my spirit's free, God's own shelter, just for me. (Chorus) He's my refuge, my safe, open road, my easy country load! Yeah, He's my shelter, He's my salvation, this good ol' solid foundation! Through the trials and the daily grind, His trusting grace is what I find, So I keep on pickin', I keep on prayin', yeah, my faith is always stayin'! (Verse 2) From the highway hum to the small-town gleam, livin' out this hopeful dream, Sometimes I stumble, sometimes I fall, hearin' doubt's lonely call. But His presence, like a steady stream, helps me find my righteous theme, Keeps my compass pointin' true, steers me out of every blue. (Bridge) I ain't always perfect, Lord, I confess, sometimes I make a holy mess, Missed a Sunday, lost my way, but You call me back every single day. Gotta fix my finances, workin' hard and strong, puttin' right where I went wrong. But Your mercy's like a gentle breeze, puts a troubled heart at ease. (Guitar Solo / Fiddle Break) (Chorus) He's my refuge, my safe, open road, my easy country load! Yeah, He's my shelter, He's my salvation, this good ol' solid foundation! Through the trials and the daily grind, His trusting grace is what I find, So I keep on pickin', I keep on prayin', yeah, my faith is always stayin'! (Outro) Yeah, my faith is always stayin'... (Fades with acoustic guitar and fiddle) My Refuge... on this country road... Amen! ©2025 By Matthew E Treviño inspired by a prayer my friend Meghan Akridge sent me.
