Not Enough Pockets x FAULTLINES & FIRE AGATES (Mashup)

V5.5

[singer A] I named a beetle after breakfast and a worm after regret, Found a centipede in my sock drawer and now we’re best friends, don’t fret. I keep a grasshopper diary scribbled on my arms in pen, Forget what I was saying but the ants are back again. [melodic interlude] [singer B] I saw God in a geode crack, Mid-spin thought, didn’t give it back. Classroom floor, my head's in slate, Counting quartz while time runs late. [singer A] I love bugs ‘cause they don’t ask me to make a single kind of sense, They just crawl and flutter and sparkle in their bug-shaped confidence. I lose time and train of thought but I gain a spider friend, With legs that drum like little drums until my spirals end. [transition] [singer B] I’m a fire agate, fracture bright— Focus sharp as meteorite. Yeah, my mind’s a landslide song, But every thought still comes out strong. I break rules like boulders break, Find my rhythm in the quake. ADHD with a crystal spine, And I forget—but I still shine. [singer A] My pockets are full of beetle shells and half-said thoughts and keys, I forgot what they open, but the bugs just call it peace. One ant on my wrist, two on my snack, Three in my poetry and one riding piggyback. [singer B] My pockets sing with tiger’s eye, My fingers hum when fluorites lie. Teacher says I’m “somewhere else,” But I’m mapping faults inside myself. [instrumental] [singer A] So if you see me talking to a moth, let me be, I swear it’s sacred, Every wingbeat’s a permission slip for joy that’s unabated. I’m a hyper garden party, I’m a walking bug parade, I love weird and wild and winged things—I am the mess they made. [singer B] I am not broken, I am opal— Scattered light, forever vocal. Not lazy, not lost, not late— Just chasing every tremor fate. This brain is wild terrain— But I know every shimmer by name.
