Verse 1 The Lord stays close when hearts are torn He saves the crushed, the lost, forlorn I’m drenched in tears through endless nights "How long, O Lord?" I plead for light Pre-Chorus But I will sing Your mercy’s song At dawn my hope in You is strong You are my Rock, my Fortress true My life, my breath, restored by You Chorus By the river of mercy I will rest You restore my soul, my weary breast Behold! You make all things brand new You turn my pain to morning dew By the river of mercy, I am free Your grace, my endless victory! Verse 2 Your faithful love won’t fade away New every morning, day by day You heal the wounds no one can see Your mercy shapes eternity Pre-Chorus 2 I sought You, Lord - You heard my cry You drew me close, taught me to fly In You alone I place my trust Your promise lifts me from the dust Chorus By the river of mercy I will rest You restore my soul, my weary breast Behold! You make all things brand new You turn my pain to morning dew By the river of mercy, I am free Your grace, my endless victory! Bridge God will wipe all tears away Deserts bloom in bright array Those who sow with weeping eyes Will reap with joy in paradise Outro Give thanks! For He is good and just Sing, Zion - rise up from the dust Shout, Israel - your God is near The River’s sound - your victory’s here
