The moon is high, the streets awake, A night of tricks for goodness sake A chilling breeze, a ghostly tune It's finally here, the night of gloom! Children squeal in pure delight, Candy bags are gripped so tight Tonights the night for tricks and pranks, Laughter echoes through the ranks The young, the oldall mark their place, In this wild and haunted race So tell me now, what's it to be Turn your back, or run with glee Trick or treat! Give us something good to eat! Well sing and shout from house to house, Quiet as a sneaky mouse Dont you dare deny our fun The Goddess sees the deeds youve done So be sweet, or be brave Her candy curse will make you cave Tonight, tonightits Halloween! Down the sidewalk, children race, A dragon stomps with heavy pace Theres a witch, a knight, a dinosaur, Capes and masks and so much more! A superhero takes the lead, Helping those with candy greed The wind beneath his cape so bright, He roars with joy into the night Trick or treat! Give us something good to eat! Well sing and shout from house to house, Quiet as a sneaky mouse Dont you dare deny our fun The Goddess sees the deeds youve done So be sweet, or be brave Her candy curse will make you cave Tonight, tonightits Halloween! The older kids have crossed the line, TP strung from tree to vine A wicked prank, a crumpled note, For the teacher who once wrote Detentions due, no ifs or ands But now the night has other plans The Goddess grins from ear to ear Her spirit thrives on tricks and fear Trick or treat! Give us something good to eat! Well sing and shout from house to house, Quiet as a sneaky mouse Dont you dare deny our fun The Goddess sees the deeds youve done So be sweet, or be brave Her candy curse will make you cave Tonight, tonightits Halloween! The final porch light flickers out, The night is doneno need to pout Beneath the moon, they head on home, Through silent yards and garden gnomes Sweets will rot their teeth by dawn But oh, what memories linger on! The Goddess nods, her debt is paid, Another year her altars made So blow the candles, snuff the light, The Goddess rests another night But when October calls once more, Shell rise again to trick-or-treat galore!
