[Verse 1] I stepped out on a limb, Took a chance on something new, Put my heart into your hands And hoped you’d know what to do. I’d been careful for so long, Built my walls up way too high, But something in the way you loved me Made me want to try. [Pre-Chorus] We’ve had conversations, We’ve laughed until we cried, And somewhere in those little moments I knew I’d found my place at your side. [Chorus] So will you walk with me, hand in hand? Will you walk with me, side by side? Through every door we open together, Through every turn along the ride. I don’t need forever promised With some perfect fairy-tale Just give me one thing, darling: Let your love never fail. Cherish me, sweetheart, As I will cherish you. Cherish me, sweetheart, And I’ll always be true. [Verse 2] I knew the day I let you in My old life had to change, There’d be no going back again To everything that stayed the same. You became the one I’d adore, The hand I wanted holding mine, And every step beyond that door Felt like we were crossing a line. [Pre-Chorus] Not knowing where we’re going, Not knowing what we’ll find, But knowing that I want to face it With your heart next to mine. [Bridge] Years may change the faces We see when we look in the glass, Life may write a thousand chapters, Some will break and some will last. But if you keep your hand in mine, I’ll keep reaching back too. Because the promise that I asked for Is the promise I’ll give to you. [Final Chorus] So will you walk with me, hand in hand? Will you walk with me, side by side? Through every door we open together, Through every turn along the ride. I don’t need forever promised With some perfect fairy-tale Just give me one thing, darling: Let your love never fail. Cherish me, sweetheart, As I will cherish you. Cherish me, sweetheart, And I’ll always be true.
