[Verse 1] Hit the shop at dawn My usual spot was gone Same old hand, same old plan Then the shelf said, “try again” Blue pack in my palm A little strange, but calm Paid the change and stepped outside Sun was up and I smiled wide [Pre-Chorus] Funny how a small switch Can shake the whole day loose I lit it up and thought Yeah, maybe this is good news [Chorus] Not bad, not bad That’s what I said Not bad, not bad When it hit my head Good day coming in Right through the cracks Not bad, not bad And I like that [Verse 2] Corner store receipt Crinkled in my jeans I took the long way home Through the beans and the green Birds on the power line Kids on a front porch swing Nothing had to change For the day to feel like spring [Pre-Chorus] Funny how a small switch Can turn the lock and choose I lit it up and thought Yeah, maybe this is good news [Chorus] Not bad, not bad That’s what I said Not bad, not bad When it hit my head Good day coming in Right through the cracks Not bad, not bad And I like that [Bridge] Could’ve cursed the shelf Could’ve let it sting But I found a new small thing And it changed everything Same sky overhead Same road, same feet Different little fire And the whole world feels sweet [Chorus] Not bad, not bad That’s what I said Not bad, not bad When it hit my head Good day coming in Right through the cracks Not bad, not bad And I like that
