The chaotic Sun, beats down on my wings, from far overhead, But I can still fly~ I'm daring to try. I'm refusing to drown. Won't let, my own hubris, bring me back down. Don't care about the radiant heat. I'm already burnt, already melting. Can't end my, voluntary confinement, I'll suffer alignment, Tighten the irons, These chains of decision, I'm already departed. ---- But then, snow falls. Gently, and slowly, Soothing, and cooling, The blackened, blood-strewn earth, covered in ashes, With sleet. As though the galaxy, Was holding its breath. Discord descending, The dark is repealing, As the queen of the darkness, Rises once more. Vernal tidings, Escorting her entrance. Blooming forth roses, From out of my sternum. Unfolding decay, Back into beauty. Restarting the cycle, Kissing the Dreaming. ---- I'm both martyr and monster, We meet in the middle, She comforts me softly, Mysterious, godly. And brings me home, once again~ Her presence confounds me, Spirals around me, Holds onto me closely. My offerings, Never feel like, Quite enough, But somehow, always sufficient, She mantles my aching, Keeps me from breaking. So I can keep gliding, Until my wings, give out.
