[Intro] [Atmospheric droning bagpipes, warm acoustic guitar picking, building low percussion] [Verse 1] When the ground beneath our footsteps yields And the oceans rise in wrath When the mountains tumble to the sea He has carved a peaceful path There’s a river flowing clear and strong Through the city of our King Though the nations rage in darkness now In His shadow we will sing [Chorus] [Soaring full choir harmonies, triumphant highland bagpipe lead, driving kick and snare] The God of Jacob is our refuge strong! The Lord of hosts is standing near! Be still, my soul, and know His name Through every storm and shifting year! The God of Jacob is our refuge strong! The Lord of hosts is standing near! [Verse 2] Though the kingdoms shake and empires fall At the sound of His command He breaks the bow, He snaps the spear By the power of His hand Come behold the wonders He has wrought Over all the earth below He brings an end to every war Let the mighty waters flow [Chorus] [Soaring full choir harmonies, triumphant highland bagpipe lead, driving kick and snare] The God of Jacob is our refuge strong! The Lord of hosts is standing near! Be still, my soul, and know His name Through every storm and shifting year! The God of Jacob is our refuge strong! The Lord of hosts is standing near! [Bridge] [Strip back to acoustic guitar, solo bagpipe drone, and layered choir building line by line] He burns the shields within the fire He bids the battlefield be still From mountain top to valley floor His glory fills the holy hill! Be still and know that He is Lord! Unshaken stands His holy word! [Chorus] [Maximum energy, massive multi-part vocal harmonies, roaring highland bagpipes, pounding drums] The God of Jacob is our refuge strong! The Lord of hosts is standing near! Be still, my soul, and know His name Through every storm and shifting year! The God of Jacob is our refuge strong! The Lord of hosts is standing near! [Outro] [Bagpipes playing melodic coda, choir humming beneath, fading with acoustic guitar] Be still and know... He is our God. The Lord of hosts is standing near. [Final resonant bagpipe drone fades out]
