Verse 1 There was a season I don’t talk about much, where everything felt like it stacked up at once, where I couldn’t tell if I had enough to keep movin’ forward through it. I was tryin’ to stand but I felt worn down, like every step I took spun me around, like I was lost but didn’t know how to even say it out loud. I kept it inside, didn’t want ‘em to see, didn’t wanna look weak, didn’t wanna seem like I was breakin’ under everything that was weighin’ heavy on me. So I smiled through it, I pushed through the day, told myself “it’s fine,” kept it all in place, but deep down I knew I was not okay, I was barely holdin’ on. And I didn’t know how to bring it to You, felt like I had to clean it up first just to move, felt like I had to be strong just to prove that I deserved to come close. But I couldn’t keep that up for long, I was runnin’ out of strength, I was feelin’ it gone, and that’s when I realized I’ve been doin’ it wrong— I don’t come to You fixed, I come as I am. So I sat in that moment, I dropped the act, I didn’t try to filter, didn’t hold nothin’ back, I just said, “God, I don’t know how to handle that,” and that’s when everything shifted. Hook You carried me through it when I couldn’t stand, when I didn’t know how, You still had a plan, I wasn’t holdin’ on—you were holdin’ my hand, You carried me through it, now I understand. Through God the Father, I found my ground, through Jesus my Savior, I wasn’t cast down, through the Spirit that moved, I didn’t drown, You carried me through it—I’m here right now. Verse 2 It didn’t change overnight, it wasn’t that quick, I still had my moments, I still felt the hits, but somethin’ was different in the middle of it, I wasn’t alone in that place. I started to notice a peace I didn’t have, not loud, not forced, but it quietly sat in the middle of the storm I was walkin’ past, and it kept me from fallin’ apart. I still had questions I couldn’t explain, still had thoughts that would circle my brain, but I didn’t feel stuck in that same kind of pain, it didn’t control me the same. It was like You were walkin’ right there with me, not takin’ it all, but helpin’ me see that I don’t gotta carry it completely— You were helpin’ me breathe again. Through Jesus Christ, I started to see I don’t have to earn what was given to me, I don’t have to prove I’m worthy to be held in the middle of that. That truth broke somethin’ open inside, I stopped tryna fix it, I stopped tryna hide, I just let You in and I let You guide, and I followed where You led me. Through the Spirit I felt that gentle shift, not pushin’ me hard, but showin’ me this— that even in pain, I’m not dismissed, I’m still seen, I’m still known. And God the Father, You never left, even when I doubted, even when I stressed, You stayed right there through every test, and I see it clearer now.
