It was a sunny day in June with shenanigans afoot A school bus loaded to the hilt turned on an unpaved road The noisy children laughed and shouted out to one another As they bounced upon their seats, crowded, and untethered The old, worn undercarriage creaked loudly from the load. From underneath the flora, faces peeked at the intruder A fox, squirrel, and raven all watched the bus come into view Elated by the jovial noises coming from within The critters jumped and cheered, “Summer now officially begins!” When the bus stopped and doors opened wide, the forest critters knew The laughing children would pile out, excited to see their friends. Their woods would be joyful once again, until the summer ends.
