[Verse 1] I saw the white one come Bow held steady in the sun Crown like a cut of bone He rode as if he owned the dawn I saw the red one flash Steel on steel in a sudden crash Peace fell out of the sky And the ground lit up with fire [Pre-Chorus] Then the dust stood up Then the trumpets cried And the seals broke loose From the other side [Chorus] Four riders on the wind Four riders on the wind White, red, black, and pale Four riders on the wind [Verse 2] I saw the black one weigh A loaf of bread for a day Hunger with a silver scale And mothers counting what they’d fail I saw the pale one ride Death close to the mountaintide Hades followed in his wake And every heart began to shake [Pre-Chorus] Then the dust stood up Then the trumpets cried And the seals broke loose From the other side [Chorus] Four riders on the wind Four riders on the wind White, red, black, and pale Four riders on the wind [Bridge] Still the throne remains Still the Lamb will reign Kings and graves may fall But mercy names us all [Final Chorus] Four riders on the wind Four riders on the wind White, red, black, and pale Four riders on the wind Four riders on the wind Four riders on the wind The end will bow to Him Four riders on the wind
