My ship is sailing into the calm ocean Light breeze, sunshine, gentle motion Such a delight, I'll always be safe Gently lulled by these angelic waves A storm is roaring on the horizon far away I guide my ship on its opposite way How safe I am, here in this lovely sea Avoiding all dangers, whatever they'll be Every choice now seems to bring pain None of those old happy ways remain Whatever I did, I could never be safe I ended up being swallowed by the waves If only I could go back, I'd let myself know The ship would sink no matter where I'd go My best strategies, my excessive caution Didn't save me from drowning in the ocean
