Genesis Chapter 4 (Encore)

V5

(Verse 1) Adam knew Eve, his wife, Under the moonlit sky. First fruit from woman's loins to lie. A son they named Cain, Eve spoke, "I've brought forth a man From the hand of God above." Yet her joy was but fleeting, As shadows cast by love. (Chorus) Fallen, fallen, we have fallen, Brother against brother. The seed of envy is planted deep, In every heart that's been bequeathed this curse. (Verse 2) Then another son was born, Abel, the shepherd boy. And Cain tilled the ground, Each man seeking God's delight to employ. Fruits and flocks they offered up, Two sons walking different paths. Abel's blood cried out in mercy, While Cain's heart remained veiled in wrath. (Bridge) The Lord saw Abel's gift, Accepted by faith so pure. But Cain's offering was rejected, As the fire of jealousy did endure. (Chorus) Fallen, fallen, we have fallen, Brother against brother. The seed of envy is planted deep, In every heart that's been bequeathed this curse. (Verse 3) Then came a day of reckoning, When Cain's anger boiled over. He spoke to Abel in deceit, "Let us go out into the field together." With stones and fists, he struck his brother down, The ground was drinking up the blood that flowed. And God said, "Your brother's voice cries out, As you've done evil in the sight of the Lord." (Outro) Fallen, fallen, we have fallen, Brother against brother. But there is hope in the promise made, That one day, a Savior would be raised. In every heart that beats with sin, This echoes Cain's mournful cry. Yet through the blood of Jesus Christ, We find redemption and life's lowest low.
