Who would have imagined it (00:36) Él eligió a su poeta favorito He chose her favorite poet (00:39) La tercera: "Baila en el parque, de noche.” The third: "Dance in the park, at night." (00:41) Extrañamente preciso - pero lo hizo Strangely precise - but he did it (00:46) No decía traer una linterna It didn’t say to bring a flashlight (00:50) Así que cayó en un estanque (Él no lo vio) So, he fell into a pond (He didn’t see it) (00:54) Alguien le entregó una linterna Someone handed him a flashlight (00:55) Pero ella se fue: "Está bien, guárdala..." "Leave a note on a tree." (01:01) Pensó, "¿Qué querrá decir - tan extraño?" He thought, "What could this mean - so strange." (01:04) Escribió un poema con gran destreza He wrote a poem with great skill (01:06) Era breve y agudo - y pura belleza It was short and sharp - and pure beauty (01:09) Al día siguiente, su nota ya no estaba allí The next day, his note was no longer there (01:11) Pero una nueva apareció - así: But a new one appeared - like this: (01:13) "¿Quién escribió esto? ¡Este poema me vuelve loca!" "Who wrote this? This poem makes me crazy!" (01:17) Su corazón saltó, la guardó en su bolso His heart leapt, he put the note in his bag (01:21) Tomó tres trenes para el número cinco He took three trains to number five (01:23) "Tira una moneda al mar, mi hijo..." "Throw a coin into the sea, kid…" (01:25) ¿Adivinen qué ocurrió? Guess what happened (01:27) ¿O prefieren que yo lo diga? Or should I tell you (01:28) Sí, ahí estaba ella - La Chispa Yes, there she was - The Spark (01:30) Recuerda la linterna - era la misma chica Remember the flashlight - it was the same girl (01:33) Ah, qué dulce historia de amor (Oooo, amor!) If it wasn't for the cookies, they never would have met (The horror) (01:39) ¡Pero no! ¡Hay un giro en la historia! But, no - there’s a twist in the story (01:40) La "mujer de sus sueños" - no era ella The “woman of his dreams” - wasn’t her (01:43) La nota de respuesta en el parque (¿Recuerdas eso?) The reply note in the park (Remember that) (01:46) Era la vendedora que encontró el poema It was the shopkeeper who found the poem (01:48) Era el cumpleaños de su hermana (con la linterna) It was her sister’s birthday (the one with the flashlight) (01:50) El poema era sobre el mar - así que ahí fue donde fueron The poem was about the sea - so that’s where they went (01:54) Pero, ¿cómo sabía la vendedora que él era el poeta? But - how did the shopkeeper know he was the poet (01:57) Ni siquiera su hermana lo sabía Not even her sister knew (01:59) Esto es lo que pasó: Nuestro chico también era romántico Here’s what happened: Our guy was also a romantic (02:02) No comió la última galleta (por nostalgia) He didn’t eat the last cookie (out of nostalgia) (02:04) La envolvió con la nota He wrapped it with the note (02:06) De la persona misteriosa From the mystery person (02:07) Pero imagina su sorpresa But imagine her surprise (02:09) Cuando se la dio para envolver su concha When he gave it to her to wrap her seashell (02:11) Todavía se escriben notas dulces / como el primer día They still write sweet notes / like the first day (02:14) La hermana recibió cinco galletas / con alegría The sister received five cookies / with joy (02:16) Y esa también fue una historia loca (como se esperaba) And that was another crazy story (as expected) (02:19) Pero esperen - ¿quién era esa mujer vestida de abeja? But wait - who was that woman dressed like a bee (02:21) ¿Qué significó esta aventura, quién es ella realmente? What did this adventure mean and who is she really (02:24) Pues, su nombre tiene cuatro letras: Well, her name has four letters: (02:27) Está la “A,” “M” y “O” – There’s the “A,” “M,” and “O” – (02:28) No recuerdo la última, aunque... (Creo que fue “R”...) I don’t remember the last one, though... (I think it was “R”...) (02:29) Solo puedo adivinar que ella es mágica I can only guess that she’s magical (02:33) Esas no eran galletas ordinarias - eran místicas (y románticas) Those were no ordinary cookies - they were mystical (and romantic) (02:36) Cinco galletas de la suerte Five fortune cookies (02:38) Deliciosas y mágicas Delicious and magical (02:40) Más dulces que la miel Sweeter than honey (02:42) Pero el amor es más dulce... But love is sweeter… [Music break] (02:50) (Cinco galletas...) (Five cookies...) (02:53) (Tan dulces…) (Ahh-hahaha...) (So sweet…) (Ahh-hahaha...) (02:55) (¡Sí!) (Yes!) Notes: The song is about a man who unexpectedly receives the gift of five fortune cookies from a mysterious but cheerful woman dressed as a bee. He spontaneously decides to follow the instructions in each cookie. This takes him on all kinds of odd adventures - which ultimately lead him to the woman of his dreams. The woman dressed as a bee is still out there distributing magical cookies and stinging the unsuspecting – with love. [The Five Cookies] Cookie #1 – “Take a different path.” He takes a completely different route to go home and discovers a new shop he’s never seen before. Cookie #2 – “Give a gift to a stranger.” He buys a book of poems and gives it to the shopkeeper at the new shop. He has actually picked her favorite poet. Cookie #3 – “Dance in the park, at night.” He goes to the park, but the note said nothing about a flashlight. Dancing in the dark, he falls into a pond. A woman he doesn’t know passes by and gives him her flashlight. Cookie #4 – “Leave a note on a tree.” He thinks it’s a weird request, but he writes a poem on a note and sticks it to a tree. The next day, his poem is gone but someone has left a reply that says they loved the poem and want to know who wrote it. Cookie #5 – “Throw a penny into the sea, kid.” He takes three trains to travel to the sea. Two women went there to celebrate a birthday. The first one is the woman who gave him the flashlight – and her sister is the shopkeeper. He saved the last cookie as a memento. But when the shopkeeper finds a pretty seashell and wants to take it home, he offers her the note from the park to wrap her seashell in. She sees the note (her reply) and realizes that – he must be the one who wrote the poem. [The Bee] The mystery woman's name (A-M-O-R) spells "amor" (love).
