🎷 "See the Person" 🎶 Smooth Jazz Lyrics (Verse 1) I passed you on the corner, didn’t meet your eyes, Too caught up in the moment, chasing highs. But then they said your name, with a title in tow, Suddenly, you were someone I was supposed to know. (Chorus) Why do we wait for a name or a sign, To see the soul that’s been there all the time? We’re all just dreamers in different disguise— Gotta learn to see the person, not the prize. (Verse 2) You had a story, written deep in your skin, But I looked right past where the light begins. Now I sit with shame and a bittersweet tune, Thinking how I could’ve seen your heart so soon. (Chorus) Why do we wait for a name or a sign, To see the soul that’s been there all the time? We’re all just echoes in a midnight sky— Gotta learn to see the person, not the shine. (Bridge) No crown, no fame, no fortune bright, Should change the way we see the light. You were always worthy, always true, Status never made you—you made you. (Outro) So now I play this tune for grace, A softer rhythm, a slower pace. May we meet with open eyes, And see the soul before the rise… 🎷
