[Verse 1] I missed my train on purpose Bought fruit from a man named Ray He said, "Kid, take the long way" So I did, and it changed my day Found a red balloon in the gutter Tied it up to my grocery bag Now it's floating through the market Like it knows where I'm at [Pre-Chorus] And I don't need a plan When the world says, "Spin" One small turn of luck And I'm back again [Chorus] Random, random That's my kind of magic (random, random) One little bend And the whole thing matters Random, random Yeah, I let it happen Random, random If you want me, find me Where the strange things gather [Verse 2] Saw a dog in a yellow raincoat Guarding a stack of crates Met a girl with a broken compass She laughed and asked me to stay We traded names for pennies Bought a map with a coffee stain It pointed straight to nowhere So we headed that way [Pre-Chorus] And I don't need a sign I just need a spark Let the day get wild Let it leave a mark [Chorus] Random, random That's my kind of magic (random, random) That's my kind of magic (random, random) One little bend And the whole thing matters Random, random Yeah, I let it happen Random, random If you want me, find me Where the strange things gather [Bridge] Maybe that's the trick You don't pick every door Some open in the rain Some open on the floor So I keep my pockets open For the things I didn't plan A little lost, a little laughing That's who I am [Final Chorus] Random, random That's my kind of magic (random, random) That's my kind of magic (random, random) Random, random That's my kind of magic (random, random) One little bend And the whole thing matters Random, random Yeah, I let it happen (random, random) If you want me, find me Where the strange things gather Random, random That's my kind of magic (random, random) One little bend And the whole thing matters Random, random Yeah, I let it happen Random, random If you want me, find me Where the strange things gather
