[Spoken Word by adult male only, Soft music in the background] In first Peter chapter two verse one, Peter tells us to get rid of all evil behavior, and among the things he lists are envy, jealousy. But how do we actually get rid of jealousy and envy? It's really quite simple: Bless the person you're tempted to envy. You see, jealousy and envy not only rob us of the opportunity to bless someone, it can also blind us to the unique gifts God has given us. Everyone of us has been given gifts by God… - gifts that he wants us to develop and share with others. And when we learn to rejoice in someone else's gift, something wonderful happens: Jealousy and envy begin to disappear, and we become more aware and grateful for our own gifts. So let's stop comparing ourselves to others and stop envying what they have. The next time you find yourself wishing you had someone else's gift, talent, opportunity, or calling, try doing something different: Bless them, and rejoice in their gifts. When one brother or sister is honored, we're all honored. You might even use a blessing like this and teach it to your kids: [enter children’s choir] [Verse 1] I bless you friend, and all the gifts that God has put inside of you May you find joy using your gifts for the one who died for you For the one who died now lives, and now he lives in you May his love shine through you in all you do [Chorus - adult male vocal joins the children] [pronounce first line exactly as written] I see JEE-EE-SUS shining in you I see Jesus's love in you I feel Jesus's pleasure in you I see Jesus in you [Instrumental]
