Home on the Range
The song "Home Home on the Range" is based on the poem "My Western Home" by Brewster M. Higley in 1872. No one is exactly sure when it became a song, but we do know that David W. Guion arranged it as sheet music in 1925. And before that, there is an 1876 news article published by Kirwin Chief publishing about the song lyrics being plagiarized, showing it was a song and not just a poem by the time of publication. "Home Home on the Range" has long ago entered into the public domain and is currently the State song of Kansas having been adopted in 1947. I sing this without the 3rd verse and instead used my own lyrics as a bridge to close out the song. The music is my own arrangement. ----------------------------------- 😁I am back again and am singing this, my real voice, not octave shifted, but I did sing at the upper end of my registry. Suno made me sound amazing, again! The tune is lifted from my acapella singing of the song and some basic strumming. Many seemed to enjoy my singing, so thought I would do another classic my own way, I still don't like my voice that much when I sing... ----------------------------------- Lyrics by : Brewster M. Home, home on the range, Where the deer and the antelope play; Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, And the skies are not cloudy all day. How often at night, when the heavens are bright With the light of the glittering stars, Have I stood there amazed and asked as I gazed If their beauty exceeded all ours. Home, home on the range, Where the deer and the antelope play; Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, And the skies are not cloudy all day. The weary soul finds rest, an strength in every breast; Where the open plains whisper low, And the peaceful winds always blow. Home, home on the range, Where the deer and the antelope play; Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, And the skies are not cloudy all day. Where seldom is heard a discouraging word, And the skies are not cloudy all day. Home on the range.
