Tomorrow

[Verse 1 - the track opens already moving, deep bass and crisp drums beneath a repeating cello pulse; vocal is low, melodic, and reflective without sounding fragile] I used to count the hours down, now I catch myself counting forward. Thinking past the end of tonight, leaving room for something more. I still know the weight of a bad day, still know how the dark can feel. But it doesn’t own the morning, and it doesn’t make the morning less real. There are parts of me still changing, parts I haven’t gotten right. Still, I find myself imagining what could happen after tonight. [Lift - digital chimes flicker above the cello while the rhythm tightens; her voice rises naturally into anticipation] I don’t need a perfect future. I don’t need to see that far. There is something in not knowing that doesn’t scare me like it did before. [Chorus - bass widens, cello becomes more melodic, layered versions of her voice add warmth; strong sustained melody without a triumphant lift] Tomorrow, I want to know you. I want to see what you become. Another morning, another open door, another day I haven’t touched. I don’t need forever to tell me where I’m going. Tonight it’s enough to know I’m looking forward to tomorrow. [Verse 2 - groove becomes more rhythmic; atmospheric guitar and muted electric piano move around a warmer lead vocal] There are days that leave me tired, days I wish had gone another way. There are things I carry quietly that don’t disappear because I’m okay. But there’s laughter I haven’t heard yet, there are good days I can’t predict. There are pieces of myself out there I haven’t had the chance to live. I can love the people beside me without giving them all of my sky. I can want them in my future and still want that future because it’s mine. [Post-Chorus - drums pull into a tight half-time pulse; lead vocal becomes simple and hypnotic] I want another morning. I want another try. I want the things I can’t see coming. I want the rest of my own life. [Bridge - floor toms and distorted guitar gradually build around the repeating cello; vocal gains grit and emotional force] I used to think getting through it was the most that I could ask. Keep my head above the water, leave the hardest night in the past. Then somewhere I stopped counting everything I had survived. Started counting all the things I still wanted from my life. Not some grand revelation. Not a sudden change of heart. Just the strange and simple feeling that I’m not finished where I am. [Final Chorus - full halo production opens with deep bass, cello, guitar, digital chimes, and restrained stacked harmonies; vocal is expansive, certain, and alive] Tomorrow, I want to know you. I want to see what you become. Another morning, another open door, another day I haven’t touched. I know there will be hard days. I know some nights will still feel long. But a life can hold the darkness and still have something to look forward to. I don’t need forever. I don’t need to know it all. Tonight I’m going to close my eyes looking forward to tomorrow. [Final Refrain - the groove keeps moving instead of fading into a quiet coda; cello and chimes repeat the central motif as her voice settles into warm certainty] Tomorrow. Not a promise. Not an answer. Just another day I want to see. Tomorrow. For the first time in a long time, that sounds good to me.
