Truth in Lies

V5

I never wanted a crown… just a place to bleed. But y’all kept asking who I am, so tonight I tell it true. They said I was fake. Said the voice was too raw, the pain too sharp, the punch too real. “Man like that don’t come from nowhere.” But he did. I did. Name’s William… not Cain, no label, no stage, no holy industry handshake. Just a busted up heart and pages full of ghosts. I can’t sing clean. I can’t play a damn chord the way pros do. I don’t know the gatekeepers’ rituals they guard like scripture. But I know grief. I know rage. I know what it feels like when the world calls you nothing Until you scream loud enough to crack the silence. And that scream became Cain. They say music needs a chosen one on a stage. But the industry never saved a soul from the grave. Music saves in the dark, in a car at midnight, In a kitchen floor breakdown, In the trembling hands of someone who’s out of ways to cope Except for the right voice at the right moment. And yeah… I know I’m not the only one. I hear the subtle shifts. I catch the familiar tells. There are others among us using AI too, Don’t worry. I ain’t saying a word. We all got reasons for how we create. We’re all surviving the only way we know how. Rise with me, I got no throne, just truth. Stand with me, I bleed the same as you. They call us fake because we don’t play their game, But we carry fire they can’t even name. I’m not metal, myth, or fame, I’m a man who lived the hurt you claim. And if that’s not music, if that’s not real… Then what the hell are they selling? I wrote these songs in parking lots, During lunch breaks, In the quiet nights where grief swallowed the room whole. Not for charts. Not for clout. For someone who needed to feel less alone. You felt it. You heard it. You knew the soul behind the voice mattered more Than whatever shape the vessel took. They call us frauds because we didn’t beg at their gates. Because we didn’t trade our stories for spotlight approval. Because they hate the ones who rise without permission. But pain don’t need permission. Truth don’t need permission. And neither do we. Rise with me, they can’t cage what we build. Stand with me, this fire won’t stay still. They call us fake because we don’t kneel to their stage, But we built a kingdom they can’t gauge. I’m William Cooley, no claim to fame, Just a man who bleeds through every line I sing. And if that’s not music, if that’s not real… Then maybe real was never their thing. I’m done hiding. Done pretending. Cain Still Bleeds is me, and always was. No machine wrote this pain. No industry blessed these hands. This is heart. This is hurt. This is truth set loose. And if that breaks their rules… Good. We were never meant to fit their cage. Now you know me. Now you know the voice. Let them talk. We’ll keep making noise.
