Psalm 33 (Text to Poetry)
Rejoice, you righteous, in the Lord, With upright hearts, let praise come forth. With harp and lyre, sing Him a song, With joyful sounds - a joyful throng. Sing a new song, play skillfully, With shouts of joy and melody. For the Lord’s word is powerful, His works are true, right, and faithful. He loves what's just, and full of grace; The earth is filled with His embrace. By the Lord's word, the heavens were made, The stars and sky his breath displayed. He gathers seas in heaps and store, And holds the ocean at the shore. Let all the earth fear God above, And stand in awe of His great love. For He spoke, and it was done, At his command, creation spun. The Lord brings nations’ plans to naught, their schemes upends, their ways all end. But His own counsel stands always, His plans endure, he never sways. Blessed are those who serve the Lord, The people chosen by His word. From heaven’s heights, God looks and sees, The sons of men, their deeds, and pleas. He gazes from His dwelling high, On all who live below the sky. He forms their hearts and knows their ways, He watches all their works and days. No king is saved by might or force, Nor warriors by their steed or horse. A horse for safety can't provide, In vain, its strength, it's cast aside. But God's eyes rest on those who fear, who hope in Him, their help is near. To save from death, and famine's end, He keeps their souls. Their lives "Defend!" Our soul awaits the Lord’s embrace, our help, our shield, our resting place. Our hearts rejoice in Him alone, For in His name, our help is shown. Your unfailing love with us abide, in you, O Lord, we do confide.
