"Last beer John" - a true story

Verse 1 We hit the bar at midnight, the band is getting loud, Everybody’s moving, dancing with the crowd. But when it’s time to leave, the night should carry on— We’re stuck at the doorway, waiting for John! Chorus Ohhh, Last Beer John, why you takin’ so long? We’ve been waitin’ all night after the final song. Sip by sip, the glass won’t disappear, We’re stuck in the bar with your last damn beer! Verse 2 The taxi meter’s ticking, the driver’s getting mad, We told him “just a minute,” but we all know that’s bad. The jukebox shuts off, the bartender yawns, But the last beer is still in the hands of John. Chorus Ohhh, Last Beer John, why you takin’ so long? We’ve been waitin’ all night for your final song. Sip by sip, the glass won’t disappear, We’re stuck in the bar with your last damn beer! Bridge Raise your bottles, raise your beers, We’ll still be waiting here for years! He’s the legend, he’s the myth, The man who can’t be done with it! Final Chorus Last Beer John, you’re the king of delay, We’ll be waiting forever, ‘til the break of day. Sip by sip, eternity’s near, We’ll never get home from your last damn beer!
