[Verse 1] Stacy walks past and they all lose their minds But I am looking one step behind In the driveway tying up her shoes She laughs like she has nothing to prove [Pre Chorus] They are shouting her name again But I am stuck in a different lane She rolls her eyes at the noise outside Says fame looks better from the other side [Chorus] Stacys sister has got it going on She does not know it but it shows While they are singing that same old song She is dancing to her own Stacys sister she is way too cool For the spotlight in her room Yeah Stacys sister does not need the crown She already owns the room [Verse 2] She is sitting on the hood at half past ten Talking about leaving this town again Does not care who is king or queen She just wants something real something mean [Pre Chorus] She says everyone wants what they cannot see I say hey look right here at me She smiles like she knows something I do not Like she has got the secret they forgot [Chorus] Stacys sister has got it going on In her beat up sneakers and jeans She does not need a choir singing along She is already living the dream Stacys sister yeah she steals my breath With a sideways glance and grin They can keep chasing yesterday I am right here falling in [Bridge] Maybe I am not supposed to say it loud But she is the best thing in this whole damn town While the world looks up at someone else I am looking right at her [Chorus] Stacys sister has got it going on Even when she does not try She just shrugs when they get it wrong And lets the moment pass her by Stacys sister if you ever ask Who was there all along It was me singing this song [Outro] So tell Stacy I said hey tonight But I am staying right here outside Yeah everyone missed her somehow But I see Stacys sister now
