Verse 1 That man you passed with tired eyes, May not have slept for days. That smile she wears could hide a storm, Too deep for words to say. The child who acts a little wild, May long for peace at home. We judge the page that's in our hands, Not chapters we'll never known. Verse 2 A bitter word, a hurried glance, Can leave lasting wars. The soul you think is cold as stone, May carry hidden scars. We've all been weak, we've all been lost, We've all worn heavy chains. So why pretend we're standing tall, Without feeling another's pain? Chorus Be slow to anger, quick with grace. Leave room for mercy's hand. You never know the cross they bear, Or where they've tried to stand. The heart is more than meets the eye, The story runs so deep. So plant your words like gentle rain, Not stones that wound the weak. Verse 3 Before you write somebody off, Or speak what can't return, Remember every soul you meet Has lessons left to learn. The strongest trees have faced the wind, The finest golds knew fire. Compassion grows where pride must fall, So love can carry higher. Bridge If Heaven weighed us by our worst, Where would any of us be? We're living by a borrowed breath, Dependent on His mercy. So let your hands be slow to strike, And quick to lift the weak. Sometimes the loudest cry for help Is one that doesn't speak. Final Chorus Be slow to anger, quick with grace. Leave room for mercy's hand. You never know the cross they bear, Or where they've tried to stand. The kindness that you give today May keep a hope alive. A gentle word, a listening ear, Can help a soul survive. Outro Walk softly through this broken world. Every face has known some night. If love is what you wish to find, Then love is what you write. The Lord alone sees every heart, The tears we never show. So leave the judging up to Him... And love the souls you know.
