Paper 138 – Training the Kingdom’s Messengers 🎶 Song: Messengers of the Kingdom (Introduction) The Master walked by Galilee’s shore, Calling hearts to serve once more. Not of power, not of fame, But love eternal in God’s name. (Verse 1 – Final Instructions) Six were sent in pairs to go, Quiet work, the seeds to sow. No cult of self, no worldly claim, The gospel pure, the kingdom’s flame. (Verse 2 – Choosing the Six) Matthew left his taxman’s stand, Thomas joined with willing hand. James and Judas, twins of faith, Simon zealous, Judas safe. Twelve complete, the band was made, Messengers of truth displayed. (Verse 3 – The Call of Matthew and Simon) “Follow me,” the Master said, Matthew rose, his past was shed. At feast of friends, the call was clear, Simon joined with zeal sincere. (Verse 4 – The Call of the Twins) Brothers simple, hearts of trust, Joined the cause, the way was just. No rank, no class, no pride of place, All were welcome in God’s grace. (Verse 5 – The Call of Thomas and Judas) Thomas doubted, yet believed, Judas came, his role received. Spirit promised, guidance sure, The kingdom’s work would long endure. (Verse 6 – The Week of Intensive Training) Seven days of lessons deep, Truth to sow, the faith to keep. Wednesday rest, a gift of peace, Joy and laughter, love’s release. (Verse 7 – Another Disappointment) Still they dreamed of worldly reign, But Jesus spoke with calm refrain: “My kingdom is not of this land, It lives within, by God’s command.” (Verse 8 – First Work of the Twelve) Fishing nets and gospel word, Side by side the truth was heard. Faith not penance, love not fear, The Father’s will drew ever near. (Verse 9 – Five Months of Testing) Work and waiting, trial and test, Friendship grew, their hearts were blessed. Through doubt and toil they stood as one, Save for Judas, faith undone. (Verse 10 – Organization of the Twelve) Roles assigned, the band complete, Messengers with mission sweet. Twelve foundations, strong and true, The kingdom’s dawn in hearts anew. (Bridge – The Master’s Band) From taxman’s hand to fisherman’s net, From zealot’s fire to faith unmet. Together bound, the gospel’s song, Messengers of right, not wrong. (Chorus) Messengers of the kingdom’s light, Trained in love, in truth, in might. From Galilee the word would flow, The Father’s will the world would know.
