Act 3- Scene 18- Silent Saturday
[The world has never been so quiet. Characters: • MARY – Broken but steady • PETER – Devastated, crushed by guilt • JOHN – Lost, numb, trying to make sense • ENSEMBLE – Distant, whisper-like echoes, no harmony, no rhythm] ⸻ [No beat. Just wind. Maybe the faint ticking of time.] ⸻ [MARY – broken emotional female voice soft, slow melody] He was just here… I still feel His hand He kissed my cheek He made me stand They stripped Him down They bled Him dry I watched my baby Hang and die ⸻ [JOHN – male voice quiet, breathless rap/spoken flow] We ran, we hid, we watched it all The cross rose up, the sky let fall We thought He’d rise, right in their face Instead, they laid Him in that place No miracles No flash of light Just stone and linen And endless night ⸻ [ENSEMBLE – make and female group faint layered whisper] Gone Gone Gone ⸻ [PETER – broken male voice cracked voice, slow rhyme] I said I’d ride, I said I’d die I cursed His name — I won’t deny The last thing He heard from me was a lie And I never got to say goodbye I thought I’d follow But I fell Now He’s gone And I’m in hell ⸻ [MARY – female voice spoken like a prayer] What mother buries her son with no voice? No justice… no sword… no choice? I held Him once Now heaven weeps And earth forgets And silence keeps ⸻ [ENSEMBLE – cold and quiet] He said He’d rise But when? Where? Was it a lie? Was He air? ⸻ [JOHN – male voices spoken, monotone] We gave it all. And now—nothing. ⸻ [ENSEMBLE – final breath] Nothing… all. And now— nothing. ⸻ [ENSEMBLE – final breath] Nothing…
