[Verse 1] Clock says five and the city comes alive Everybody rushing but I’m taking my time Got my good shoes on and a smile on my face Tonight feels right and I’m ready to play The horns say “go” and the band locks tight A little bit of magic in the neon light You look my way and the room gets small One little glance and I’m losing it all [Pre-Chorus] Hey, don’t overthink it No, don’t make it hard We got a rhythm and a reason Beating in our hearts [Chorus] Friday in my pocket Sunshine in my soul Nothing gonna stop it When the groove takes control Come a little closer Let the whole room know Friday in my pocket And I’m never letting go [Horn & Vocal Response] Hey! (Ba-da da-da!) Come on! (Ba-da da-da!) Everybody now! (Ba-da da-da-da!) One more time! (Ba-da da-da!) [Verse 2] Bassline bouncing like it’s talking to me Everybody moving in the same heartbeat Your laugh cuts through like a trumpet line Sweet and bright and perfectly timed The spotlight swings and the whole room glows Where the night will lead us, nobody knows But the groove keeps pulling us into the sound Feet off the floor and our worries down [Pre-Chorus] Hey, don’t overthink it No, don’t make it hard We got a rhythm and a reason Beating in our hearts [Chorus] Friday in my pocket Sunshine in my soul Nothing gonna stop it When the groove takes control Come a little closer Let the whole room know Friday in my pocket And I’m never letting go [Horn & Vocal Response] Whoa-oh! (Ba-da da-da!) Whoa-oh! (Ba-da da-da!) Everybody sing! (Ba-da da-da-da!) All night long! (Ba-da da-da!) [Instrumental Break] Horn Section: Ba-da da-da! Ba-da da-da! Ba-da da-da-da! Ba-da da-da! Guitar Answer: Chicka-chicka-wow! Horns: Ba-da da-da! Guitar: Chicka-wow! [Final Chorus] Friday in my pocket Sunshine in my soul Nothing gonna stop it When the groove takes control Come a little closer Let the whole room know Friday in my pocket And I’m never letting go [Outro] Everybody now! (Ba-da da-da!) One more time! (Ba-da da-da!) Friday in my pocket (Ba-da da-da!) And I’m never letting go
