Did you hear it? Little feet… hopping closer Paint the shells soft pastel keep them lined up nice and still Hide them well count to ten something else is joining in You said it’s just a game …right? Don’t look behind the basket not yet Little bunny, don’t be late Something’s moving through the gate Soft and sweet, just like before Scratching gently at the door Little bunny, come inside There’s no need to run or hide Warm hands, hold you tight Keep you safe all through the night Chocolate stains on your hands wasn’t there when you began Finger marks not your size why do they match your thighs You laugh it off say it’s fine …say it again It likes when you pretend Little bunny, don’t be scared Feel the weight that wasn’t there Soft and slow, it learns your shape Every breath you try to take Little bunny, stay real still Let it do just what it will You won’t notice when it’s done You and it will be just one You left one egg untouched …why It’s warm it’s no, don’t Something moved inside it before you did open it open it open it Little bunny, we’re the same No more hiding, no more game Soft and sweet, inside your skin That’s where I have always been Little bunny, don’t pull away You’ve been mine since yesterday Every step, every breath I was there beneath your chest Go on check the basket again There’s one more now
