[Verse 1] I found your note in a jar Under my sink, by the peas Three words, one crooked star Kissed on the edge of the crease You said, "Try something strange" So I bought a silver spoon Then I laughed in the rain With a paper bag balloon [Pre-Chorus] And I kept on walking Past the cut grass fence Past the boys on the curb Past my own good sense Something in the air said "Go on, choose a side" So I bit into the day Like an apple full of light [Chorus] Random topic Hit me again Random topic Open the lens Make it odd Make it mine Random topic One more time [Verse 2] I met a man with a kite In the middle of noon He tied it to my wrist And pointed at the moon A girl sold sugar plums From a dented blue tray She said, "Take the orange one It'll color your day" Now my shoes feel lighter My pockets feel loud I don't need a reason To be lost in a crowd [Pre-Chorus] And I kept on walking Past the cut grass fence Past the boys on the curb Past my own good sense Something in the air said "Go on, choose a side" So I bit into the day Like an apple full of light [Chorus] Random topic Hit me again Random topic Open the lens Make it odd Make it mine Random topic One more time [Bridge] If the world gets heavy I take the smaller road Follow the bread crumb shine In a cracked-up code Let the strange thing lead me Let the dull thing burn Every little detour Gives the whole heart room to turn [Final Chorus] Random topic Hit me again Random topic Open the lens Make it odd Make it mine Random topic One more time Random topic Hit me again Random topic Till it feels right
